NEW ZEALAND

New Zealand is one of the youngest wine-growing countries in the world. It was not until the early 19th Century, the first platn test were started here and it was not until the 1960s, to a quantitatively and qualitatively significant wine-growing has emerged.
In the North Island are the major crops. The best results are obtained in the regions of Auckland, Waikatu, Hawke's Bay and Gisborne. The main focus in white wine is Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon for red wines. End of the 70s get the first export success of Sauvignon blanc - wines from the Marlborough region.
