ORGANIC WINE

What is the difference between conventional wine and organic viticulture and organic viticulture?

In organic wine-growing only natural substances are injected. Natural agents are used that do not penetrate the plants and therefore do not leave any residues in the wine. In addition, preventive work, such as intensive foliage work or soil care, is carried out in the vineyard to make controversial sprays unnecessary.

Even higher demands are placed on biodynamic viticulture, an extension of organic viticulture. The vineyard is perceived even more as a living organism, the work is adapted to the rhythm of nature. Vines are pruned e. g. when the moon is right, fertilization is usually done e. g. with horn dung only at certain times of the day. Although the organic wine guidelines primarily relate to vineyard work, there are also certain rules for winemaking in the cellar. For example, genetically modified yeast, gelatine, bovine blood or other controversial products must not be used. Organic wines can be recognised by the corresponding seal on the label.
