The celebrated Gerard Depardieu is an avid wine connoisseur and has been involved in the wine business since 1979, when he purchased vineyards in Nuit-St-Georges. In 1989, he purchased Château de Tigné. In 2005, he founded L’Esprit de la Fontaine in the Languedoc-Roussillon with partners Laurent Vidal (winemaker of Mas Conscience), Laurent Odiot (chef of his La Fontaine Gaillon restaurant), Philippe Salasc (of Château Grès St-Paul) and good friend Jean-Philippe Servière.
