Winemakers, especially those who have been worked in the same place in the winegrowing for generations know, in which locations develop the best, longest-lived, most finesse and charakter strongest wines.

Based on these considerations, the "Association of Austrian Traditionsweingüter" was founded in 1992. The terms "Große Lage" ( not yet classified ) and "Erste Lage" was marked.

In the "Klassifikation" there are meanwhile 72 vineyards along the Danube - Kamptal, Kremstal, Traisental, Wagram und Vienna - which were awarded to the title "ÖTW Erste Lage".

SALON AUSTRIA

The Styrian Terroir and Klassikweingüter (STK) are a free association of wineries that have dedicated themselves to the region-typical wine culture with the highest claim.
The seal "STK" is a protected brand and guarantees Styrian wines of the highest quality.
The classification of terroir wines defines the premium segment of Styrian wines. First STK-Lagen and Große STK-Lagen are obtained from late-harvested grapes and may not be sold before May 1 after six months of expansion at the earliest. Reserve wines must even have 18 months of expansion behind ageing.
